Construite en 1674 par Pierre Bullet, élève de Blondel, cette arche triomphale fut commandée par le Roi-Soleil pour commémorer ses victoires en Flandre et en Allemagne. Moins massive mais plus ornementée, elle s’impose avec ses bas-reliefs dynamiques et son style baroque. Elle marque l’entrée d’un quartier populaire et vivant, entre grands boulevards et ruelles anciennes.
